HIWEDO believes in focusing on a person’s abilities, not their disabilities, in order to develop a competent and qualified workforce. That is why we are proud to be a part of the Hawaii Island Business Leadership Network (HIBLN).
The HIBLN is Hawaii’s second business-to-business organization created by business leaders, to promote the best practices of hiring persons with disabilities in the workforce. The East Hawaii Chapter is a part of the national US Business Leadership Network (USBLN) which includes affiliates across the United States.
In order to recognize islands businesses for their efforts in hiring, retaining and developing the unique skills of persons with disabilities, HIWEDO helps to coordinate the annual Ho’omohala Award & Ceremony. If you would like to recognize a business or would like to find out more about the Ho’omohala Award, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
